On this occasion, Project Director Hafiz Muhammad Qasim briefed the Secretary on the implementation status of various projects being executed under PMU-BESP. The briefing highlighted ongoing efforts to improve access to quality education, strengthen institutional capacity, and enhance educational outcomes across Balochistan.
The meeting was also attended by Abdul Khaliq, Chief Planning Officer, PPIU, along with representatives from the Finance Department and the Social Welfare Department, reflecting the government’s collaborative approach to reforms in the education sector.
Several key projects were discussed in detail, including the School Transportation Program, Teacher Development Program, Digital Learning through the use of modern educational tools in remote and disadvantaged districts, and the Teacher Excellence Program to strengthen classroom teaching quality and professional development.
The ASPIRE project was also comprehensively reviewed, with a particular focus on establishing a robust and sustainable system for identification, enrollment, and retention of out-of-school children. The participants also discussed strengthening linkages with federal institutions to further enhance the implementation and impact of ongoing educational reforms.
The Secretary appreciated the dedication and performance of the PMU-BESP team and particularly commended the successful conduct of the fully-funded scholarship program for 400 intermediate-pass female students of Balochistan. He termed the initiative a milestone towards expanding higher education opportunities for young women across the province and encouraged the team to continue delivering educational reforms with the same commitment and professionalism.
