GUJRANWALA: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Khurram Shehzad Haider Waraich chaired the Fifth Regional Command Conference at the Regional Police Office to review law and order, crime prevention, public service, security arrangements for Chehlum and the upcoming Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections.
The meeting was attended by CPO Gujranwala Dr. Ghiyas Gul Khan and the DPOs of Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Hafizabad and Mandi Bahauddin.
Officials informed the conference that robbery cases in the Gujranwala Region declined from 4,348 during the last six months of 2025 to 1,842 in the first half of 2026—a reduction of 2,506 cases, which exceeded the combined reduction recorded in the other nine police ranges of Punjab.
The region also witnessed significant declines in car and motorcycle snatching, vehicle theft, burglary, murder, child abuse and missing children cases. During June 2026, Gujranwala Region Police safely rescued 597 women.
The RPO praised the performance of all districts, particularly Gujranwala and Mandi Bahauddin, attributing the improvement to aggressive policing, intelligence-based operations and the dedication of police officers.
He directed officers to ensure transparent, dignified and prompt public service, strictly enforce accountability and maintain effective security arrangements for all major religious and public events.
After the conference, the RPO inaugurated the newly established COPS Café at the Regional Police Office, describing it as an important welfare initiative for police personnel and visitors. He urged officers to continue serving with professionalism, integrity and accountability to strengthen public trust and maintain law and order across the region.
