JHELUM: World Population Day was observed across Jhelum under the directions of the Punjab Health Department and the supervision of CEO District Health Authority Dr. Mian Mazhar Hayat. District and tehsil-level seminars and awareness walks were organized to highlight the importance of family planning, reproductive health, and gender equality.
The district-level seminar was chaired by District Health Officer Dr. Amjad Ghafoor and attended by Program Director DHDC Dr. Nisar Khalid, CHI Program Focal Person Chaudhry Muhammad Niaz, and health officials. Speakers stressed that Pakistan’s rapidly growing population poses major challenges and emphasized responsible family planning, education, and youth development to ensure a healthier and more prosperous future. An awareness walk was held after the seminar.
