ISLAMABAD — President Asif Ali Zardari has felicitated King Felipe VI of the Kingdom of Spain and the people of Spain on the occasion of the country’s National Day.
In his letter of felicitations, the President said Pakistan values its longstanding friendship with Spain, founded on mutual goodwill and constructive engagement.
He noted that growing trade and investment ties between the two countries offer considerable opportunities for closer cooperation in renewable energy, agriculture and information technology. He also emphasized the importance of strengthening links between universities, researchers and businesses in both countries.
The President highlighted the Pakistani community in Spain as a valuable link between the two countries, helping to strengthen people-to-people relations.
He said Pakistan and Spain cooperate closely at the United Nations and other multilateral forums on issues of shared interest, including climate action, sustainable development and international peace.
President Asif Ali Zardari expressed confidence that relations between Pakistan and Spain would continue to grow stronger for the mutual benefit of their peoples.
