Report: ANI Correspondent:
RAWALPINDI –Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesperson Sheikh Waqas Akram and PTI Kisan Wing Central Secretary Information Khalid Nawaz Sadhraich have issued written instructions to party organizations and Kisan Wing chapters regarding the September 27 Azadi March.
They informed government officials, relevant institutions, law enforcement agencies and national and international media that PTI workers participating in the march would not carry sticks, slingshots or any type of weapon. They said anyone found carrying such items would have no association with PTI.
The leaders said the September 27 march could only be postponed on the direct instructions of Imran Khan and following arrangements for his meeting with his family and fulfilment of other stated demands.
They said convoys travelling towards Islamabad would hold sit-ins if forcibly stopped, while alleging that more than 35,000 police personnel from Sindh, Balochistan and Punjab had been deployed in Islamabad with riot-control equipment.
The PTI leaders also alleged that attempts could be made to create disorder during the protest. These allegations were presented by the party and were not independently verified.
The PTI Kisan Wing said its workers would participate with tractors, trolleys and party flags and would lead the march as the vanguard.
Sheikh Waqas Akram and Khalid Nawaz Sadhraich called on party workers to strictly follow the leadership's instructions and maintain a peaceful protest, while stressing what they described as their constitutional right to demonstrate.
