ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information Technology Shaza Fatima Khawaja, accompanied by the district administration, visited various petrol pumps in Islamabad on Friday to review implementation of the Prime Minister’s Petrol Relief Scheme.
The minister interacted directly with citizens for the third consecutive day and received feedback regarding the provision of subsidized petrol under the relief programme.
Officials said the registration SMS service has been made free of charge in compliance with the Prime Minister’s directives. Citizens have been advised to complete registration strictly according to the prescribed procedure.
The administration has been directed to ensure an uninterrupted supply of subsidized petrol and take strict action against any delays in providing relief to eligible citizens.
The scheme, aimed at providing targeted relief to deserving segments of society, is being implemented across the country. Real-time monitoring is also being carried out through a 24-hour control room.
According to officials, more than one million successful registrations have so far been completed under the fuel relief scheme, while over 800,000 tokens have been generated nationwide. Punjab and Islamabad are currently leading in terms of token redemptions.
Citizens at the visited petrol pumps appreciated the initiative and thanked the Prime Minister and the federal minister for facilitating access to affordable petrol.
