KARACHI — Indonesia Medica at Health Asia Expo & Conference 2026 concluded with the signing of three Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between Indonesian and Pakistani institutions and companies, carrying a combined indicative value of $625 million in projected trade transactions.
The agreements were signed at the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Karachi during a business dinner hosted in honour of Indonesia Medica delegates, marking a significant outcome of three days of engagement at Health Asia 2026.
The three MoUs were signed between Indonesia’s HIPELKI and the Healthcare Devices Association of Pakistan (HDAP); PT Borden Eagle Indonesia and Muller & Phipps Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd.; and PT Tele Sehat Indonesia and Educast Global Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd.
Indonesian Consul General in Karachi Mudzakir described the agreements as an important step towards strengthening institutional cooperation, developing direct business partnerships and translating discussions into practical commercial opportunities.
The HIPELKI-HDAP agreement establishes a framework for cooperation, to be followed by a practical Plan of Action. Proposed areas include business matching, reciprocal market access, regulatory information exchange, capacity building, research and development, technology transfer, manufacturing cooperation, joint ventures, local production and digital health.
HIPELKI represents around 250 stakeholders in Indonesia’s medical-device sector, while HDAP represents approximately 300 Pakistani importers and manufacturers.
The other two agreements are expected to strengthen business-to-business cooperation between Indonesian and Pakistani companies, creating further commercial opportunities and sustainable partnerships.
The agreements followed Indonesia’s participation in Health Asia 2026, where Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Health, Syed Mustafa Kamal, inaugurated the exhibition and visited the Indonesian Pavilion, participating in a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Mudzakir said that economic diplomacy was aimed not only at organizing events but also at creating meaningful connections, building confidence between partners and supporting discussions until they developed into sustainable business relationships.
The business dinner was attended by HIPELKI Secretary General Sigit Mohammad Nuzul, HDAP Chairman Dr. Syed Omer Ahmad, Health Asia Expo and Conference Co-Founder Dr. Zakiullah, Health Asia Project Director Farhan Anis of E-Commerce Gateway, representatives of the companies signing the MoUs, Indonesian delegates and Pakistani healthcare business leaders.
The Consulate General said it would continue following up on contacts and agreements developed during Health Asia 2026 in collaboration with relevant ministries, HIPELKI, HDAP, E-Commerce Gateway, participating companies and Pakistani partners.
It also expressed hope that Indonesia Medica would become a regular Indonesian platform at future editions of Health Asia, bringing more companies, wider business networks and stronger commercial outcomes.
Mudzakir said the conclusion of Health Asia 2026 should mark the beginning of a new chapter in which the connections established during the event develop into lasting partnerships and tangible results for Indonesia and Pakistan.
