ISLAMABAD — The 14th meeting of the Standing Committee on Human Rights was held at Parliament House under the co-chairmanship of Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting Barrister Danyal Chaudhry and the Committee Chairperson.

The Committee unanimously resolved to uphold the Federal Ombudsman for Protection Against Harassment (FOSPAH) ruling in the Dr. Ayesha harassment case, reaffirming that workplace harassment in any form is unacceptable and will be dealt with strictly.

The Committee also discussed the Ayat Noor case from Haripur, deciding that if the victim’s parents are dissatisfied with the ongoing investigation, they may seek the formation of a fresh investigation team from a special unit.

Condemning the murder of Hina Javed in Rawalpindi, the Committee stressed that the case must be pursued rigorously without any leniency towards influential individuals, reiterating that no one is above the law.

The Committee reaffirmed its commitment to protecting citizens’ rights and ensuring swift, impartial justice in high-profile cases.
