Gujranwala, August 25, 2026: Punjab Police reviewed major crime cases and ongoing investigations, with authorities emphasizing transparent investigations and strict action against those involved in criminal activities.
A medical board confirmed the presence of nine different types of drugs in samples of two women who died within the jurisdiction of Lahore’s Township area. The board unanimously concluded that both women died due to cardiac arrest. Police said further investigation into the case is underway.
Progress was also reviewed in the Harra Javed murder case, with three suspects named in the FIR and two already arrested. Police said efforts were continuing to apprehend the remaining suspect.
Authorities also reviewed the Abdullah Tahir murder case, saying the alleged shooters had escaped to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and their current whereabouts had not yet been confirmed. Investigations and legal proceedings are continuing for their arrest.
Punjab Police leadership also reviewed the performance of the Dolphin Force and Command and Control system and directed officials to improve policing and strengthen public service delivery.
The police reiterated a zero-tolerance policy against corruption, directing that complaints be investigated transparently and accountability mechanisms be strengthened across the department.
