ISLAMABAD—Chaudhry Tahir Mehmood, son of prominent political and social figure Chaudhry Muhammad Hafeez of Union Council 62 Khanna Dak, has joined the Pakistan Awami Quwat Party (PAQP) along with his supporters.
At a special ceremony, PAQP Chairman and Chairman of Rawal General & Dental Hospital and Rawal Foundation, Khakan Waheed Khawaja, welcomed the new members by presenting them with the party flag. The event was attended by senior party leaders as well as a delegation from Peshawar led by Malik Mazhar, Malik Nauman, Zeeshan Khan and other office-bearers.
Addressing the gathering, Khakan Waheed Khawaja said the Pakistan Awami Quwat Party is gaining public support across the country, with more political and social figures joining the party after reviewing its manifesto. He welcomed the new members and assured them that the party would uphold the trust they had placed in its vision and leadership.
He also announced that he would soon visit Peshawar to address a public gathering, expressing confidence that several prominent personalities would join the party during the visit.
Criticising the political situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Khawaja said the province’s people had been disappointed by the performance of the party that has governed the province for the past 15 years, leading many to join the Pakistan Awami Quwat Party.
He said the party is giving special priority to healthcare, education, employment, and technical education, adding that several welfare initiatives are already serving the public in these sectors.
Speaking on behalf of the new members, Chaudhry Tahir Mehmood and Malik Mazhar thanked the party leadership and pledged to work wholeheartedly for the party and promote its manifesto at the grassroots level.
