ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), under its Sister Cities Initiative, organized an informative session in collaboration with the Public Private Partnership Authority (P3A) to explore new avenues for investment through Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs).
Addressing the session, ICCI President Sardar Tahir Mehmood said PPPs are a globally recognized model for driving economic growth, infrastructure development and sustainable investment. He emphasized that Pakistan needs substantial investment in transport, energy, healthcare, education, housing and urban infrastructure, adding that PPPs provide an effective mechanism to mobilize private capital and enhance development.
Mohammad Awais, Deputy Head Policy at P3A, briefed participants on the country’s evolving PPP framework, regulatory mechanisms and project development cycle. He reaffirmed P3A’s commitment to facilitating private sector participation, strengthening investor confidence and supporting sustainable infrastructure projects.
Sardar Tahir Mehmood highlighted ICCI’s continued efforts to strengthen collaboration between the public and private sectors through dialogue, knowledge-sharing and investment-focused initiatives. He noted that the ICCI Sister Cities Initiative plays a vital role in promoting institutional cooperation and economic development.
