Islamabad saw a meaningful show of care and cooperation as Maroof International Hospital, in partnership with the Royal Thai Embassy, held a community health camp at Pakistan Sweet Home under the Maroof Community Program. The initiative was arranged in connection with the birthday celebrations of Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana of Thailand, bringing a humanitarian message to the center of the event.
The camp offered free consultations in Pediatrics, General Medicine, Dentistry, Ophthalmology, Nutrition & Dietetics, and Psychology for children and staff. Medical teams found that dental concerns and vision problems were among the most common issues, with about 60 percent of the children needing attention for oral health and eyesight, while nearly 40 percent required general medical and mental health support.
Free medicines were also distributed by the MIH Pharmacy to support treatment and recovery for all children and staff who visited the camp. The service added practical value to the day, especially for children from vulnerable backgrounds who often have limited access to regular healthcare.
His Excellency Mr. Rongvudhi Virabutr, Ambassador of Thailand, attended as chief guest and praised the effort for helping underprivileged children. He noted that aligning the event with the Queen’s birthday reflected Thailand’s continued commitment to community welfare and humanitarian support.
Chairman MIH Chaudhry Naseer Ahmed said the hospital remains committed to extending healthcare support to orphaned and vulnerable children through the Maroof Community Program. CEO MIH Mr. Haroon Naseer appreciated Mr. Zamurrad Khan for providing a caring environment at Pakistan Sweet Home and thanked the Royal Thai Embassy for its partnership in the community health camp.
The event concluded with an Appreciation Shields Ceremony, where the Royal Thai Embassy, Pakistan Sweet Home and MIH teams were acknowledged for their contribution to social wellbeing and community healthcare in Islamabad.
