The Junior Women’s Hockey Championship is set to take place in Islamabad from July 6 to July 9, 2026, as the Pakistan Hockey Federation moves ahead with another major step in its women’s hockey development plan. The tournament will be staged at the Naseer Bunda Hockey Stadium and is expected to draw promising young players from different parts of the country.
The federation has invited provincial associations, regional bodies and affiliated departments, including the Pakistan Army, WAPDA, Pakistan Railways and other institutions, to send their teams for the event. Each squad will be allowed to register 16 players along with 2 officials or coaches, giving teams a clear structure as preparations begin.
Officials said the Junior Women’s Hockey Championship is designed to create a stronger pathway for emerging talent and give young players a national platform to test their ability against quality opposition. The competition is also being seen as an important opportunity to help build the future of women’s hockey in Pakistan.
By bringing together junior talent under one championship, the PHF aims to identify players who can progress to higher levels of representation. The event is expected to support competitive growth, improve visibility for women’s hockey and strengthen the overall structure of the game at the junior level.
With Islamabad preparing to host the tournament, the championship is likely to become a key fixture in the domestic hockey calendar and a meaningful chance for young athletes to make their mark.
