ISLAMABAD — Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan has assured the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) of his full support for establishing a new industrial estate in Islamabad and setting up a Banking Mohtasib Pakistan facilitation desk at the Chamber.

He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony at ICCI Chamber House on Saturday, congratulating newly elected President Mohammad Zikria Akbar Zia, Senior Vice President Mohammad Ashfaq Hussain Chatha and Vice President Mohammad Waqas Khan Swati.

The Governor said a modern industrial estate would attract investment, increase industrial production and create employment opportunities. He assured the business community that he would take up the proposal with relevant authorities and facilitate the allocation of suitable land.

ICCI President Mohammad Zikria Akbar Zia urged institutional support to resolve longstanding business community issues, emphasizing stronger government-private sector cooperation, industrialization and export promotion. He also proposed a permanent coordination mechanism between the Governor House and ICCI.

Chairman Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) Syed Qamar Raza highlighted the contribution of overseas Pakistanis through remittances, investment, trade and international business connections. He stressed stronger cooperation between OPF and ICCI to promote economic opportunities.

Chairman Pakistan Business Forum France Sardar Zahoor Iqbal emphasized the importance of overseas business forums in boosting Pakistan's exports, expanding access to European markets and promoting international investment and joint ventures.

Senior Vice President Mohammad Ashfaq Hussain Chatha, who moderated the ceremony, reaffirmed ICCI's commitment to collectively addressing business community concerns, while Vice President Mohammad Waqas Khan Swati appreciated the contributions of the Governor and other distinguished guests.

The ceremony was attended by former ICCI presidents, Executive Committee members, industrialists, traders and representatives of various business sectors.
