QUETTA — Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) General Secretary Jamal Shah Kakar has reaffirmed the party’s commitment to protecting workers’ rights, describing the working class as the backbone of the national economy.
Addressing a Labour Wing Convention organized by the PML-N Labour Wing and various labour unions, Kakar said that workers’ welfare had remained a central priority of Nawaz Sharif’s politics.
He emphasized that timely wages, safe working conditions and dignified employment were fundamental rights of workers. He pledged to resolve their issues on a priority basis, stating that practical steps would be taken rather than relying on promises.
Kakar announced that workers’ grievances would be compiled in consultation with labour union leaders and that progress on resolving them would be regularly reviewed. He also stressed stronger coordination among the government, elected representatives and labour organizations.
“The prosperity of workers is the prosperity of Pakistan,” he said, assuring workers of continued support for their legitimate rights.
The convention was attended by Provincial Minister Mir Asim Kurd Gailo, MNA Akhtar Bibi, Adviser to the Balochistan Chief Minister Naseem-ur-Rehman Malakhail, several MPAs, Labour Wing office-bearers and representatives of various labour unions.
