KARACHI — Habib-ur-Rehman, a resident of Haroon Bahria Cooperative Housing Society, Hub, has appealed to higher authorities for legal action over an alleged fraud and recovery of Rs10 million. He said security cheques worth Rs300 million were also issued in connection with the matter.
Speaking at a press conference at the Karachi Press Club, Habib-ur-Rehman said he purchased 15 kanals of land in Bedrian, Lahore, in 2023 for Rs150 million and later sought assistance from his former employee, Nasir Shehwani, to resolve a dispute over the property.
He alleged that Rs9 million was transferred to Abdul Rehman and Zafar Iqbal through bank transactions, while another Rs1 million was taken in connection with arrangements to send his son to the UK.
He said that after demanding the return of the money, a dispute arose and he later faced an alleged firing incident in Lahore. He said an FIR had been registered and appealed for a transparent investigation, recovery of the disputed amount and protection for himself and his family.
