Report: ANI Correspondent:
ISLAMABAD — Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, along with Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, said the government would ensure full implementation of the Islamabad High Court’s detailed judgment regarding protests and marches towards the federal capital.
Naqvi said clear instructions had been issued to all law-enforcement and security institutions, warning that those violating the court’s order would face legal action, including contempt proceedings.
He said peaceful protest was a democratic right, but blocking roads, highways or disrupting citizens’ movement would not be allowed. Political activities, he added, must be conducted while maintaining law and order.
The minister urged opposition leaders to reconsider the protest plan, saying confrontation would cause losses for the country, provinces and people. He said the government was ready to resolve political issues through dialogue and was willing to discuss all matters in Parliament.
Naqvi also said that in case of any untoward incident, those responsible for organising the protest would be held accountable.
