TASHKENT –The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan has strongly condemned the attempted attack involving an unmanned aerial vehicle targeting the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia.
Uzbekistan expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia and said any actions threatening holy sites, civilians or civilian infrastructure are unacceptable.
The ministry called on all sides to exercise maximum restraint, comply with international law, and respect the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of states.
It also reaffirmed support for efforts to reduce tensions, prevent further escalation and promote peace, security and stability in the region.
