GUJRANWALA — Punjab Local Government Minister Zeeshan Rafique made a surprise visit to Kamoke, Gujranwala City and Sadar tehsils and inspected the cleanliness operations under the Suthra Punjab programme.
The minister ordered the dismissal of the Tehsil Manager Suthra Punjab Kamoke and a Field Monitoring Officer over poor performance, while warnings were issued to the Managing Director, district and tehsil managers and contractors.
Zeeshan Rafique directed the concerned officials to ensure 100 percent implementation of the beat plan and effective monitoring of workers. He said there would be zero tolerance on cleanliness targets on the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
He also directed authorities to avoid manual road sweeping during the smog season and ensure roads are cleaned through mechanical sweeping, while strictly following the Environment Department’s instructions.
