JHELUM — An MoU signing ceremony was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Jhelum for planting one lakh saplings across Jhelum district under Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s “Green Punjab” vision and Deputy Commissioner Jhelum Mir Raza Ozgun’s “Green Jhelum, Green Punjab” programme.

An MoU was signed between the District Administration Jhelum and Beaconhouse School System. Deputy Commissioner Jhelum Mir Raza Ozgun and Director Systems and Audit Muhammad Amir Afzal Rana signed the agreement.

Additional Assistant Commissioner Abdullah Raja, School Head Nazafat Malik, Project Director UCS Ali Butt and Assistant Director Faisal Nisar were also present.

The partnership aims to promote tree plantation across the district, expand green areas, reduce environmental pollution and provide citizens with a clean, healthy and eco-friendly environment.

Under the agreement, one lakh saplings will be planted across Jhelum, with students and citizens actively involved in the plantation campaign. Special attention will also be given to the care and protection of the planted trees.

The partnership between the District Administration Jhelum and Beaconhouse School System is expected to further strengthen the “Green Jhelum, Green Punjab” programme and transform plantation into a collective environmental campaign involving students and citizens.

The initiative aims to make Jhelum a greener, cleaner and more eco-friendly district while creating a healthier environment for future generations.
