Murree—- Phagwari Police have intensified their crackdown against drug dealers, recovering a total of 1,700 grams of hashish in two separate operations and arresting two alleged drug dealers.

According to police, the operations were conducted under the supervision of SHO Phagwari Shahid Gillani. The arrested suspects were identified as Naseem alias Numberdar, a resident of Phagwari, and Nosham Khan, a resident of Peshawar.

Police recovered a total of 1,700 grams of hashish from the suspects and registered two separate cases under Sections 9-C and 9-B of the Control of Narcotic Substances laws. Further investigation is underway.

SHO Shahid Gillani said there would be no leniency for drug dealers or their facilitators. He said making Murree a drug-free area is the mission of him and his team, adding that strict action would continue against those involved in destroying the future of the younger generation through drugs.

Police officials further stated that investigations are underway to identify other individuals allegedly involved in the drug trade, and those found responsible will also be brought before the law.

Shahid Gillani said drug abuse is a serious menace that is destroying the younger generation. He added that although complaints regarding drug dealing had previously been received from the area, operations against drug dealers have been intensified since he took charge as SHO Phagwari.

Following the ongoing crackdown, drug dealers operating within the jurisdiction of Phagwari Police Station have reportedly started going underground.
