ISLAMABAD — The National University of Technology (NUTECH), in collaboration with the National Technology Council (NTC) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), has developed four Level-6 Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology qualifications in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics under the TVET Sector Support Programme (TVET-SSP), co-funded by the European Union and the Federal Republic of Germany.

The initiative aims to improve the quality, relevance and international alignment of engineering technology education in Pakistan by equipping graduates with advanced, industry-oriented skills aligned with national and international labour-market requirements.

A launch ceremony was held at NUTECH on August 24, 2026, attended by senior representatives of the European Union, German Embassy, GIZ, NTC, industry and academia.

Rector NUTECH and Chairman NTC Lt Gen Moazzam Ejaz, HI(M) (Retd), appreciated the support of all stakeholders and emphasized the importance of national and international partnerships in strengthening Pakistan’s technical education system.

German Embassy Deputy Head of Development Cooperation Dr Manuel Winkenbach highlighted the initiative’s potential to create better employment opportunities for Pakistani youth, while EU Head of Cooperation Jeroen Willems reaffirmed the EU’s continued support for Pakistan’s TVET sector.

The initiative is expected to strengthen links between education, industry and employment while providing Pakistan’s youth with modern, industry-relevant engineering technology skills.
