RAWALPINDI: On the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Managing Director Suthra Punjab Agency Rawalpindi Rana Sajid Safdar continued field visits to review cleanliness and drainage arrangements across the city.
He inspected the ongoing zero-waste operation at Pirwadhai General Bus Stand, Nullah Lai, Murree Road and other areas. Officials briefed him on waste lifting, drain cleaning and arrangements made in view of the ongoing spell of rains.
Rana Sajid Safdar directed all operational staff to remain fully active during the rains and ensure immediate resolution of public complaints. He also ordered special attention to low-lying areas, with additional workers and machinery to be deployed where required.
He directed officials to ensure continuous drain cleaning and prevent the accumulation of garbage anywhere in the city. He warned that negligence in cleanliness and drainage operations would not be tolerated and strict action would be taken against those failing to perform their duties.
