MURREE: Continuous heavy rainfall in Murree triggered multiple landslides, causing rocks and trees to fall onto roads and disrupting traffic on several major routes. District authorities and rescue teams launched immediate clearance and restoration operations.
According to the district administration, a building on the Lakot Expressway collapsed after it had already been declared unsafe and evacuated, preventing any loss of life. A tree also fell on a vehicle on the Awain Expressway, while a landslide temporarily blocked the road at Pindi Point.
Traffic was also affected on the Bostal–Lawrence College Road after rocks fell from a hillside. In the Seventeen Mile area, rainwater entered two houses, where Rescue 1122 teams carried out drainage operations.
Officials said 84 millimeters of rainfall were recorded during the latest spell. All relevant departments remain on alert, monitoring vulnerable areas and restoring affected roads. No casualties have been reported.
