ISLAMABAD– ICCI President Sardar Tahir Mehmood has urged the government to adopt a comprehensive export-led growth strategy, saying higher exports are essential for sustainable economic growth, job creation and macroeconomic stability.
Speaking to business delegations, he said high business costs, expensive energy, complex taxation and regulatory hurdles are restricting exports. He called for a long-term, business-friendly policy to boost industrial growth and diversify export markets.
Senior Vice President Tahir Ayub and Vice President Mohammad Irfan Chaudhry also stressed reducing the cost of doing business and supporting export-oriented industries to strengthen the economy.
