ISLAMABAD– The Chess Federation of Pakistan (CFP) celebrated World Chess Day by reaffirming its commitment to promoting chess across the country and developing young talent.
CFP President Syed Zeeshan Naqvi, the chief guest at the ceremony, said the federation is taking practical steps to strengthen chess at the grassroots and national levels. He noted that the record participation in the recent National Chess Championship reflects the game’s growing popularity in Pakistan.
Naqvi said the federation will continue organizing tournaments, training programmes and development initiatives to prepare future champions and enhance Pakistan’s presence in international chess.
The event was attended by CFP Vice President Rehan Azam, federation officials, players and chess enthusiasts, and concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony to mark World Chess Day.
