ISLAMABAD—The Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI), through its India Study Centre (ISC), in collaboration with the Youth Forum for Kashmir (YFK), organised an event titled “Youm-e-Ilhaq-e-Pakistan: Revisiting History, Shaping the Future” to mark Youm-e-Ilhaq-e-Pakistan.
Chairman Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon attended as chief guest, while former AJK President Ambassador Masood Khan was the guest of honour. Speakers highlighted the historical significance of the 19 July 1947 resolution, reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination, and called for a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions.
The participants also stressed the importance of parliamentary diplomacy, credible research, and international engagement to highlight the Kashmir issue and urged the global community to take notice of the human rights situation in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir.
