ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, in his message on World Youth Skills Day, said Pakistan’s youth are the nation’s greatest asset and emphasized that quality education, character building, and modern skills are essential for a prosperous future.
He noted that digital innovation, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies are reshaping the global economy, making internationally competitive technical and vocational skills crucial for sustainable development. The Prime Minister said the government has transformed the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) into a modern institution focused on globally recognized certifications and industry-driven training.
He highlighted that a significant allocation has been made in this year’s budget for skills development through NAVTTC, reflecting the government’s commitment to investing in Pakistan’s human capital. He added that the government’s strategy focuses on creating employment opportunities while developing skilled professionals, entrepreneurs, and a productive workforce capable of boosting exports and economic growth.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also stressed stronger collaboration with industry and international institutions to ensure Pakistani workers meet global standards. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing equal opportunities for both men and women without discrimination.
Expressing confidence in Pakistan’s future, the Prime Minister said that with effective training institutions, coordinated federal and provincial efforts, and private-sector cooperation, Pakistan’s skilled workforce would become a global symbol of competence, innovation, and excellence.
He urged the nation to renew its commitment to empowering youth and transforming their talents into lasting national prosperity.
