Islamabad, July 4, 2026: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has taken strong notice of the misuse of the National Assembly Secretariat’s name through a forged appointment and offer letter, along with the alleged misuse of the official status of the National Assembly.

According to the National Assembly Secretariat, Abdul Wajid, a resident of district Ghotki, falsely presented himself as a Grade-17 employee of the National Assembly and used a fake appointment letter issued in the name of the Secretariat. The letter also carried forged signatures of the Speaker National Assembly. He is alleged to have misled government officials and police authorities by claiming this status, while also reportedly obtaining undue privileges and protocol.

The Secretariat said Abdul Wajid has no connection with the National Assembly Secretariat and there is no record of his appointment or employment. It added that the appointment letter being used is completely fake and has no legal or official standing.

On the directions of Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, the Acting Secretary National Assembly has written to the Director General FIA and the Inspector General of Sindh Police, seeking legal action against Abdul Wajid, tracing the origin of the forged letter, and identifying others involved in the matter.

The National Assembly Secretariat said FIA took prompt action on its complaint and arrested the accused, while legal proceedings are underway and investigations continue to trace the source of the forged document.

The Secretariat further stated that preparing or using forged documents in the name of the National Assembly Secretariat, the Speaker National Assembly, or any official authority is a serious and punishable offence. It urged the public and government institutions to verify the authenticity of any appointment letter, offer letter or official document before relying on it.
