Pakistan-Kenya trade milestone with record exports and bilateral trade growth
Pakistan-Kenya trade has crossed the US$1 billion mark.

Alhamdulillah, Pakistan Kenya bilateral trade has surpassed the US$1 billion mark and now stands at US$1.023 billion.

Pakistan’s exports to Kenya have also reached an all time high of US$434.7 million in the just concluded FY 2025/26, marking the highest ever recorded exports from Pakistan to Kenya in the history of bilateral trade.

This milestone reflects the growing strength of Pakistan Kenya trade relations and the dedicated efforts of the commercial section of the High Commission of Pakistan. The Commercial Counselor’s continued engagement with Kenyan government institutions, chambers of commerce, trade organizations, and private businesses has helped create new opportunities for Pakistani exporters.

Over the past two years, several developments have supported this performance, including the organization of merit based delegations and participation in five major trade exhibitions in Pakistan. These included FoodAg, HEMS, PATDC, TEXPO and WHX arranged by TDAP, where Kenyan importers signed deals worth millions of US dollars on the spot.

The Trade Mission also successfully lobbied for a reduction in the customs valuation of Pakistani rice by the Kenya Revenue Authority from $615 to $450, making Pakistani rice more competitive in Kenya. In addition, it pushed for the inspection and registration of more than 35 Pakistani pharmaceutical companies by Kenya’s Pharmacy and Poisons Board.

The second Pakistan Kenya Joint Trade Committee was also successfully convened and became the first JTC to be held physically. The FTA with the EAC is in process, while the ongoing Basmati rice geographical indication case remains an important development, with optimism for a favorable outcome for Pakistan, InshaAllah.
