ISLAMABAD—Chairman Senate, Senator Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, in his special message on Youm e-Ashur, said the 10th of Muharram is an eternal symbol of truth, righteousness, patience, sacrifice, and steadfastness against oppression. He said the tragedy of Karbala continues to inspire humanity by illuminating the distinction between right and wrong in every age.Gilani stated that Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his devoted companions made unparalleled sacrifices in Karbala to uphold the supremacy of Islam, protect human dignity, and preserve the principles of justice and fairness. He emphasized that Imam Hussain’s (RA) sacrifice teaches that true honour and success lie in standing firmly for truth and making every possible sacrifice in its cause.The Chairman Senate said Youm e-Ashur also conveys a powerful message of unity, tolerance, brotherhood, and national cohesion. He urged the nation to follow the noble character and teachings of Imam Hussain (RA) by promoting peace, justice, harmony, and mutual respect.He called upon the people to reflect on the sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and the martyrs of Karbala and to uphold the values for which the Ahl e-Bait (RA) rendered everlasting sacrifices. Gilani also offered special prayers for Pakistan’s peace, stability, and prosperity, as well as for the unity and progress of the Muslim Ummah.
