Report: ANI :

ISLAMABAD — The Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Future Development Holdings (Private) Limited (FDHL) to develop a modern housing scheme on approximately 2,000 kanals of land within Capital Smart City, Rawalpindi District.

The MoU signing ceremony was held at FGEHA headquarters in Sector G-10/4, Islamabad, through the Authority’s Joint Venture Projects Wing. The project will be developed under a Land Sharing Model to promote effective use of resources and expand quality residential facilities for federal government employees and the general public.

Chief Engineer FGEHA Syed Muhammad Hassan signed the MoU on behalf of the Authority, while FDHL Executive Director Brigadier (Retd.) Muhammad Nadeem Aslam signed on behalf of his organisation.

Speaking at the ceremony, FGEHA Director General Capt. (Retd.) Muhammad Zafar Iqbal said the proposed project reflected the government’s commitment to providing affordable, secure and quality housing through public-private partnerships.

He highlighted Capital Smart City’s planned infrastructure and facilities, including educational institutions, healthcare services, parks, mosques, community centres, sports facilities and commercial areas.

The Director General said FGEHA had made significant progress in providing residential facilities to government employees, with several housing projects in Islamabad and Karachi completed and others at advanced stages of development.

He added that the Federal Minister for Housing and Works and the Secretary of the Ministry had prioritised affordable housing, timely completion of projects and transparency. He reaffirmed FGEHA’s commitment to improving residential facilities in line with modern standards.

The project is expected to expand housing opportunities for federal government employees in Rawalpindi and adjoining areas, subject to the applicable development and implementation processes.
