Report: ANI Correspondent

ISLAMKOT –The 53rd annual Urs of Sufi Saint Nainuram was observed in Islamkot, with the three-day celebrations continuing on the third and final day. The ceremonies formally began with the traditional offering of a chadar at the sacred khat.

MPA Ashok Kumar Ratnani, Anil Kumar Ratnani, MNA Dr. Mahesh Kumar Malani and MNA Ramesh Vankwani participated in the ceremony and laid the chadar.

The annual Mahotsav is held for three days every year, featuring bhandara (community meals) and satsang sessions throughout the day and night. Devotees from distant areas attend the celebrations to participate in satsang and pay their respects.

Singer Aslam Faqir has also arranged a cold drinking-water stall in the city for the convenience of pilgrims and visitors.

The festival features devotional bhajans dedicated to Sufi Saint Nainuram, quiz competitions for children on Hindu religious teachings, and a two-day free medical camp where hundreds of patients receive medical check-ups, treatment and medicines.

Members of the Lohana community from Islamkot and other cities traditionally close their businesses during the three-day Urs and volunteer in preparing and distributing food at the bhandara.

For children's entertainment, swings and a temporary bazaar have also been set up in the city. Traditional Sindhi cultural stalls and Malakhro wrestling activities are among other attractions, drawing pilgrims and devotees from different areas to the annual celebrations.
