KARACHI — LAAM Fashion Week (LFW) will present Kaleidoscopic Karachi on September 26 at the historic Nusserwanjee Building of the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture (IVS), marking the second edition of LFW Presents and its first outside Lahore.
The five-designer showcase will feature Deepak Perwani, Khaadi, The Pink Tree Company, Wardha Saleem and Sana Safinaz, with an archival exhibition by renowned photographer Tapu Javeri opening the evening.
The event will celebrate Karachi’s diverse cultural and creative identity through fashion, craft and heritage. Maheen Kardar, Executive Director Designer Experience and Curation, said the showcase aims to present five distinct interpretations of the city.
Tapu Javeri will present Four Decades of Fashion Through the Lens of Tapu Javeri, drawing from his archive of Pakistani fashion and Karachi.
The participating designers will offer varied perspectives: Deepak Perwani will present modern Western wear; Khaadi will combine its Khaadi and Chapter 2 lines; The Pink Tree Company will highlight traditional craft and contemporary design; Wardha Saleem will showcase Sindhi-inspired embroidery and modern silhouettes; while Sana Safinaz will present its 20-piece heritage collection, Mastaani.
