ISLAMABAD –The Founders Group of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) has secured a sweeping victory in the Chamber’s elections for 2026-28, winning all seats of the Executive Committee with a substantial majority.
Congratulating the successful candidates, ICCI President Sardar Tahir Mehmood, Senior Vice President Tahir Ayub and Vice President Mohammad Irfan Chaudhry said the victory reflected the business community’s confidence in the elected representatives. They expressed hope that the new Executive Committee members would effectively promote and protect the legitimate interests of the business community.
Sheikh Tariq Sadiq, Chairman ICCI Founder Group, also congratulated the newly elected members and thanked ICCI voters for giving the Founders Group candidates a decisive mandate.
Former ICCI President and United Business Group Secretary General Zafar Bakhtawari said the clean sweep reflected the confidence of Islamabad’s business community in the group’s leadership and performance. He said the result conveyed expectations for stronger representation of the business community.
Following the announcement of results, supporters celebrated with slogans and drumbeats, while victorious candidates were lifted onto the shoulders of their supporters.
Chief Election Commissioner Omar Rafiq, along with commission members Chaudhry Nadeem-ud-Din and Assad Aziz, thanked ICCI members for ensuring the peaceful conduct of the elections.
